  • Staffs and manages the Containment Engineering Team
  • Acts as the primary point of contact to determine when containment information is required to support CA’s or TAR/SAR investigations, and to execute and communicate containment activities to the company
  • Manages the CE team to generate comprehensive lists of items to contain throughout the manufacturing process , from purchased items in Stock up to and including delivered vehicles
  • Ensures NC’s are generated where required, and supports UI activities using the CE team as much as possible to ensure timely completion and to reduce resource impact on the QA group
  • Leads the CE team Containment Review Action Board and follows up to make sure all affected parts are adequately identified for final disposition when containment is required
  • Reviews every CA for the need to contain, and makes sure an adequate description of the contain/no contain decision is included in the CA
  • Ensures containment is complete (NC’s or contracts letters created, parts on HOLD) before approving related CA’s for closure
  • Develops processes to ensure complete and accurate information to locate all affected parts can be retrieved from Costpoint and SPARTA
  • Drives continuous improvement of the containment process to reduce time to complete containment and improve accuracy
  • Supports TAR and CA teams throughout their investigations to help determine scope and breadth of containment required and adjusts as new information is discovered
  • Facilitates Calibration Out of Tolerance report responses and reviews/approves prior to closure

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, prefer science focus
  • 9 years' experience in Quality Engineering, Aerospace Mfg background preferred.7 years w/ Master's degree
  • Strong software skills in Excel (filters, pivot tables, vlookup, macros, text string manipulation), Access (common query creation), PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Costpoint, and TipQA.  SQL preferred.
  • Background in Metrology (ANSI Z540, ISO-17025)
  • Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9000 Quality Systems, Root Cause/Corrective Action methodologies, and Risk assessment


Salary Range: $105,600 USD - $155,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
