Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Supplier Mission Assurance for the Palmdale, CA location to support 1st shift (4/10 schedule).

Provides Supplier Quality (SQ) leadership for the program and is the point of contact for all supplier related activities and actions. Leads, trains, and mentors SQ teammates to ensures compliance with contract requirements and NGAS SQ processes. Collaborates with program management, engineering, Global Supply Chain, functional leadership, and Supplier Management Teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers. Foster proactive relationships with all program functions and leadership to ensure timely and accurate execution of the SQ statement of work (SOW). Generates and presents supplier performance metrics to support program (i.e. Program Corrective Action Boards) and customer reviews. May support SQ requirements development, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), supplier pre-award capability assessments, source selection evaluations, supplier quality audits, and supplier performance assessments. Evaluates supplier-non-conformances, identify negative performance trends and failures for supplier root cause investigation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Reviews and accepts supplier Corrective Action responses. Tracks and manages supplier Corrective Actions, Stock Purge activities, non-conformance documentations, and related activities. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status and risks. Determines the resources required to execute the SQ SOW to ensure team success, leads the resources, and ensures the resources are adequately trained. Extensive use of Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 9 years of related experience; Master's degree with 7 years of related experience; OR PhD with 4 years of related experience
  • Understanding of Quality Management System Standards including AS9100, AS9102, and AS5553
  • Ability obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • SAP experience, specifically with the Supplier Quality transactions
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) experience
  • Experience with generating a Basis of Estimate in support of proposals, manpower planning and managing and executing to defined budgets.
  • Experience with the NGAS Procurement Processes including the Supplier Quality Assurance requirements (SQAR)

Salary Range: $117,700 USD - $176,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
