One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Staff Mission Assurance Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability to lead development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
This position will serve 100% on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Establish and provide Mission Assurance oversight of production processes and supporting activities
- Assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Develops, implementation and maintenance of Mission Assurance policies and procedures
- Leads a team of quality engineers and analysts in ensuring product quality.
- Recruits, trains and mentors the next generation of engineers and analysts.
- Recommends and supports corrective action where necessary.
- Manage resource logistics and execution.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Mission Assurance Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 12 years of related experience, or 10 years with a Master's Degree, or 8 years with a PhD.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (IPTs)
- Understanding and experience with Continuous Improvement concepts, processes, and tools
- Knowledge base in Root Cause Analysis tools,
- Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Must be a US Citizen
- Candidate must be able to obtain a CI Poly as part of their clearance per business requirements
- Clearance: Candidate must currently have and be able to maintain an Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance
Preferred Qualifications for Staff Mission Assurance Systems Engineer:
- Experience with a large system-of-systems air, space or ground system development program
- Experience presenting to customers
- Understanding of system of system architecture designs the interplay between various partners, customers and products
