Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located at Linthicum, MD.

The Quality Engineer will support the Supplier Performance Management organization covering BWI campus programs interests.

  • Perform Specification Compliance Reviews, Drawing review. Assist with First Article Inspections per (AS9102 or equivalent) and Source inspections.
  • Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable.
  • Review Purchase Requisition and Purchase Orders for quality Notes flow-down to supplier
  • Work with key suppliers to ensure they are performing well and their capacity and capability are adequate to deliver products to specifications and on time
  • Perform Supplier performance management by analyzing performance data, and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Preventing/Minimizing business impact from supplied material defects; supplier quality risk mitigation
  • Proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied material defect claims
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports.
  • Be able to analyze and present data to Director level Management.
  • Collaborate and foster positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams

This position may be filled at a level 2 or a level 3, depending on experience.

Basic Qualifications for a Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related STEM Field
  • 2+ years of experience in products manufacturing processes
  • Experience collaborating with external suppliers and internal teams
  • Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience with AS9100/AS9102/Equivalent (standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry)
  • Experience in products/material root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Familiar with FAR or DFAR or DOD or MIL standards ( MIL-STD-271, MIL-STD-2035, & MIL-STD-278)
  • Experience with statistical process control or ISO 9001

Salary Range: $73,600 USD - $110,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
