Northrop Grumman Space sector is seeking a Principal Engineer Supplier Quality/Engineer Supplier Quality to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Baltimore, MD & Redondo Beach locations.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) team that interacts with Suppliers, Program Quality Engineers, and Manufacturing Operations on products to meet our customer’s mission needs.

Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.
 

Basic Qualifications:    

• Principal Engineer Supplier Quality: Bachelor's + 5 years of exp: Master's + 3 years of exp; PhD + 0 years of exp. 9 years of relevant exp is also acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Engineer Supplier Quality: Bachelor's + 2 years of exp; Master's + 0 years of exp, 6 years of relevant exp is also acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Secret or higher clearance.

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience working with manufacturing and/or integration and test.
• Experience with electrical assemblies.
• Experience with SAP.
• Strong background working with electrical design requirements and specifications.
• Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
• Experience conducting, leading, and supporting audits.
• Trained and experienced in performing Root Cause Corrective Action

This position reports to Baltimore, MD, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Colorado Springs, CO, CO, USA.

Salary Range: $73,600 USD - $110,400 USD

Salary Range 2: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
