Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mission Assurance Engineer (Level 4) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT.

As quality engineering, we define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. We assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers are in accordance with contractual requirements. We assess program performance and risks, and help to determine resources to ensure contract and process compliance.

Description & responsibilities:

This Mission Assurance Chief Engineer (MACE) is responsible for all Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) compliance on the Sentinel Program.  The MACE is accountable to assure program S&MA needs are allocated and implemented through our systems and will engage across S&MA organizations and into other organizations to assure quality and safety contract requirements are met on time and within budget. Daily interface with program leadership, Engineering, Safety and Quality organizations is required.  Regular customer interface is required to assure all customer requirements are being met.  Government and DCMA interface is a key part of this position with the MACE being a primary contact for quality and safety matters. Responsibilities include ensuring resources across S&MA are provided when and where needed to support Program success.  You will lead efforts to develop, communicate and implement the S&MA vision, strategy, goals, budgets, and metrics to help meet business and program objectives.  Travel to our Clearfield facility, as often as once weekly, may be required for some 6 months.

Basic Qualifications:

Senior Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science and 9 years of engineering experience OR 7 years with Master of Science Degree

  • Experience with development and implementation of advanced composite manufacturing processes under aerospace industry requirements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with one or more of the following fields: Design Engineering, Structural Analysis, Manufacturing Engineering, or Systems Engineering

  • Experience with the qualification and certification of aerospace structures

  • Experience with direct interface and collaboration with customer representatives


Salary Range: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
