Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems is looking for a Principal Mission Assurance Engineer/ Senior Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team at the Bacchus UT, Facility.

Description & Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will work in an industrial environment and support solving complex engineering problems.  Will effectively interact with design engineering team and provide support across Factory Value Streams, Materials and Process experts, Process engineering, and Tool Design.
  • Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies/procedures to assure compliance/resolve non-conformances and will serve as liaison between Bacchus Mission Assurance and various internal and external organizations, including some government agencies.
  • Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, process control, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.
  • Must be able to work in manufacturing environment, including accessing stairs and work platforms.

Skills and Competencies for Success:

Emphasis in coursework or prior experience in the following areas:

  • Quality Assurance/ Quality Engineering
  • Systems Engineering and Statistics
  • Engineering Design, Solid Mechanics
  • Application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/AMSE Y14.5), and Dimensional Inspection Techniques
  • Customer Service
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Candidate should have experience in the following areas:

  • Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, SPC
  • AS9100/IS9001
  • Tooling/special equipment
  • Computer Aided Design – ie NX, Solidworks, ProE, other
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Demonstrated Customer Coordination

Education/Requirements:

  • This requisition may be filled at either a level 1 or a level 2. 
  • A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
    • Completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution. Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering preferred
    • A major in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
    • Principal Engineer:  A Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years’ experience or a Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience
    • Senior Principal Engineer:  A Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years’ experience or a Master’s Degree with 7 years’ experience
    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
    •  Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
