Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Quality Engineer/Principal Quality Engineer to join the Quality & Mission Excellence Organization in Salt Lake City, Utah.We are looking for a self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction, with strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills who has an ability to successfully collaborate across organizations and functions.Capabilities and Responsibilities:As a member of our Quality and Mission Excellence team you will be involved with all aspects of the Manufacturing technology development cycle which include:
  • Understand and analyze complex problems and derive solutions
  • Effectively communicate solutions, ideas and concepts to a diverse audience
  • Research, organize, analyze information
  • Collaborate with cross-function team
  • Define requirements, develop and execute plan
  • Review, analyzes and take action on quality discrepancies
  • Use data analytics to drive action to reduce defects and drive quality improvements
This is a Dual-Level Requisition

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Engineer Quality (level 3) Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ Years of manufacturing experience (3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD).
  • Ability to create, execute and complete First Article Inspection plans
  • Understanding and use of the DMAIC Process: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control
  • Experience facilitating effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Working knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) standards, practices and Customer engagement.
  • Sr. Principal Engineer Quality (level 4)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) 9+ Years experience in manufacturing environment (7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD)
  • Ability to create, execute and complete First Article Inspection plans
  • Understanding and use of the DMAIC Process: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control
  • Experience facilitating effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Working knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) standards, practices and Customer engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High volume electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP
  • Circuit Card, Micro-electronics manufacturing
  • J-STD and IPCA requirements
  • Mill-STD requirements
  • AS9100 and ISO 9001 Standards
  • Data analytics and visualization, statistics
  • Design of Experiment (DOE
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC),
  • 6 sigma certifications

Salary Range: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,600 USD - $152,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
