Duties:

  • Implements and administers an effective Safety and Mission Assurance program throughout all program phases in compliance with applicable customer contracts and other guidelines.
  • Supports document reviews, nonconformance processing including Material Review Boards (MRBs) and Failure Review Boards (FRBs), Technical Alert (including GIDEP) dispositioning, and deviation and waiver generation and processing.
  • Leads root cause and corrective action for test failures, especially during I&T.
  • Provides support to Systems Engineering for Engineering Review Boards, for Risk and Opportunity Management including opportunity and risk and mitigation identification, and for internal, external, and supplier technical reviews.
  • Provides support to Supply Chain Management for material procurement including SDRL reviews and resolution of requirements exceptions from offerors/suppliers.
  • Responsible for Control Account Manager (CAM) duties such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting for the S&MA control account.

This position can be filled as a Principal (level 3) or Sr Principal (level 4) depending on experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an applied science
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (level 3) or 9 years of relevant experience (level 4)
  • U.S. citizen
  • Active or current Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working directly with customer and internal executives, often on contentious issues
  • General familiarity with spacecraft subsystems, and how they are manufactured, integrated, and tested
  • Initiative to address issues and opportunities that do not always fit clearly into one person's area of responsibility
  • Willing to take ownership of assigned tasks, proactively engaging with others to overcome process, organizational, and technical obstacles


Salary Range: $104,000 USD - $150,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $129,000 USD - $185,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
