Northrop Grumman Organization: Space Systems, Launch & Missile Defense Systems Division is hiring for Business Unit: Launch Vehicles Department: Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineering

Engineer Guidance Navigation and Control, located in Chandler, AZ

Essential Functions:
Support various launch vehicle, target vehicle, and business development programs.
Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control functions for the target or launch vehicle.
Design, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify mission requirements for the vehicle.
Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space.
Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
Utilize excellent communication skills to report program milestones, technical approaches, and findings to GNC as well as program management.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experience.
Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Level Security clearance.
Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment.
Experience with C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience with autopilot and guidance algorithm design and navigation and actuator subsystems.
Experience with Python and the Linux operating systems.


Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
