    Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Test Safety and Control Manager 2.  This position will be located at Vandenberg AFB in California and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.  

    Candidate will be the manager and technical lead for the Sentinel Flight Test Operations Center and codes operations teams.  This will include advising program management on the best courses of action for proper and timely dispatch of engineers for all launch facility maintenance and operations.  Will control all codes operations associated with Sentinel weapon system, to include storage, dispatch, and proper installation in order to achieve successful flight test program.  Will be the central hub for all emergency operations, communication, and accountability for Sentinel personnel.  Manage all launch crew personnel, to include human resource support, career pathing and professional development.  Responsible for all funding and resources for all launch crew activities. 

      

    What You’ll Get To Do:    

  • Manage personnel running Sentinel operations center and keys and codes vault.
  • Ensures command center personnel properly monitor health and status of ICBM launch facilities and launch centers and supporting systems.  
  • Manages accurate configuration records of test equipment worked on, team structures, and annotation of anomalies.  
  • Manage and coordinate consolidated VSFB Sentinel program emergency responses.  
  • Manage operation center personnel responsible for supporting the flight and ground testing at VSFB.
  • Lead teams responsible for 24/7 shifts during flight test preparation and execution.
    Perform duties as a COMSEC custodian and advise leadership on COMSEC security requirements.
  • Manage production, control, issue & recovery of code components critical to Sentinel flight test program.
  • Manage personnel directly responsible for system to generate & verify the accuracy of critical code components.
  • Develops comprehensive procedures and troubleshooting relating to the use of ICBM codes & code systems.
  • Maintain database accounting for all Sentinel test code components, critical components, and codes related support equipment items.

    This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.    

      

    You’ll Bring These Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor of Science (STEM) degree with 6 years of related experience or Masters of Science (STEM) degree with 4 years of related experience.
  • A current DOD Secret clearance.
  • 1+ years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain TS SAP.
  • Willingness to Travel up to 10%.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:  

  • US Citizenship with an Active Top Secret Clearance. (Awarded within the past 5 years)
  • Flight test experience and or/command center experience.
  • Experience with flight test operations in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Experience with Command Post and/or Missile Maintenance Operations Center and/or Codes Vault operations.
  • Proficient in Agile Development practices and the use of applications such as Jira and Confluence.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a Control Account Manager managing cost and schedule execution.
  • Manage cost and schedule performance for flight test execution control accounts as a Control Account Manager (CAM), adhering to Earned Value Management principles and processes.

Salary Range: $134,600 USD - $201,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
