Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer / Principal Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
Responsibilities may include
- Develop, integrate, and document air vehicle simulation subsystem plant models used in the development and verification of fly-by-wire control systems.
- Mature and integrate GNC modeling into multiple simulation lab environments.
This role may be filled as an Engineer (level 2) or Principal Engineer (level 3) based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications
- Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS)
- Principal Engineer: BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; OR MS in a STEM discipline and 3 years of relevant experience
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Knowledge of fixed-wing aircraft subsystems
- Experience using MATLAB to create, process, analyze, and visually represent data.
- Experience using Simulink to model dynamic systems.
- Experience analyzing non-linear simulations data.
- Familiarity with programming (C/C++, Python).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience using configuration management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering with controls concentration.
- Active DoD secret clearance
- Experience using Simulink Test to perform software unit test verification
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Familiarity with simulation visual software packages, e.g. FlightGear, X-Plane, STK, etc.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
