Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector in Azusa, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Level 3) or a Sr. Principal Software Engineer (Level 4) to join our team.

As a selected candidate you can support the design, development, documentation, testing, integration, and debugging of software written in various computer languages. You can ensure software standards are met. Understanding the importance of collaborating with a diverse team and across disciplines in an often-dynamic environment is a philosophy you share and demonstrate. Basic Qualifications:

• 1.  For a Level 3 Principal Software Engineer, a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field and 5 years of related software engineering experience, OR a master’s degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related experience.

2. For a Level 4 Senior Principal Software engineer, bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 9 years of related software engineering experience OR a master’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of related software engineering experience, OR a PhD in a STEM field.

• Demonstrated professional level experience in C/C++ (object-oriented) SW development and some exposure or experience as an embedded SW engineer.  Additionally, some experience with Java or Python SW development and the ability to rapidly adapt and learn others as needs arise.
• US Citizenship with an active DoD Secret level clearance.

• Proficiency in Agile development concepts, methodologies, and associated tools (Jira/Atlassian tools)
• Experience with requirements development, software design, architecture, and code
• Experience developing and/or implementing complex algorithms
• Experience with Static Code Analysis (SCA) tools (Fortify, Understand, SonarQube)
• Experience with unit testing (tools, frameworks, automation)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Linux operating system experience (administration would be a plus)
• Active and current DoD Secret clearance or higher

Salary Range: $104,600 USD - $157,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $129,700 USD - $194,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
