We are looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer based out of McClellan, CA in the Sacramento area.

As a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. The selected candidate will design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensure software standards are met.

This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer level or a Principal Software Engineer level

Basic Qualifications of a Software Engineer:

- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience; Master's degree with 0 years of related experience; PhD with 0 years of related experience; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

- Proficiency in one or more of the following: C++, Java, C, C#, .Net

- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Basic Qualifications of a Principal Software Engineer:

- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience; Master's degree with 3 years of related experience; PhD with 0 years of related experience; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

- Proficiency in one or more of the following: C++, Java, C, C#, .Net

- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) degree

- Proficiency and interest in some of the below is highly beneficial for this role, and we will teach you what you don’t know:

- Languages: C++/Java/C#, Python, Perl

- Technology and platforms: Linux Red Hat, git, Atlassian suite

- Object-oriented design and development

- Agile methodologies and techniques, continuous integration

- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills

Salary Range: $85,000 USD - $127,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $104,600 USD - $157,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
