The Consolidated Operations and Anomaly Support Team (COAST) has an opening for a Staff Software Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The successful candidate will work closely with the Software Assistant Program Manager (APM), Software Deputy APM, Software Subproject Managers (SPMs), and three other Software Architects. They will be responsible for negotiating and coordinating with COAST subsystem SPMs to ensure SW developer support and the successful completion of scheduled activities across multiple product lines and SW baselines.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support organic growth proposals (including CROMs & ECPs) and the authoring of corresponding TD/BOEs
  • Technical evaluation of RFCs and provide appropriate responses
  • Task lead responsibilities (including development of the Integrated Master Schedule) requiring interaction with a wide variety of COAST SW, SI&OE, and SW I&T individuals to ensure capabilities are well defined and meet customer needs.  Oversee SW design, test, delivery, and maintenance of multiple software baselines in support of each SW product line
  • Lead COAST representative for the Development contract led MMA effort under which significant new capabilities are being developed using an Agile methodology and DevSecOps process utilizing the Atlassian tool suite
  • Manage and coordinate with Software staff, subcontractor personnel, COAST IPT leads, E1 site personnel, Customer, and Tech Support
  • Manage anomaly resolutions, and report status to project management and customer representatives at bi-weekly meetings with the customer
  • Make recommendations to streamline long term maintenance activities
  • Technical oversight of Information Assurance of security compliance requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active SCI or a DoD TS Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access by start date
  • Bachelor's degree with 14 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 9 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following software development languages: C++, Java, C

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software architecture is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated complex problem solving, analytical, and decision making skills
  • Excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively interface with all technical and management levels
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Prior knowledge of Mission 1 programs is a definite plus
  • Working knowledge of Agile development processes
  • Current SCI clearance

Salary Range: $178,700 USD - $268,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
