We are seeking either a Principal DevOps Engineer or a Senior Principal DevOps Engineer to join our talented Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground team in Redondo Beach, CA.
What you'll get to do:
- Provide automation configuration with tools like Ansible and Jenkins to automate build and configuration processes
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) process and tools, deployment strategies
- Containers and containerization technologies/tools such as Docker or Podman
- Agile management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub, and desire to study/learn new technologies and tools
- Develop and support scripts in Python, Bash, and JavaScript
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
- Principal DevOps Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in STEM; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD
- Senior Principal DevOps Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelors in STEM; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
- Strong working knowledge of Linux environments
- Experience with Docker, Ansible, build systems (e.g. Make or Gradle)
- Active Secret Clearance at the time of application
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools, i.e., Jenkins
- Experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others
- Experience with cloud/virtualization technologies such as AWS (EC2) and VMWare
- Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits, source-controlled management, etc.
- Familiarity with the principles of DevSecOps
- Ability to develop and support software test procedures
- Atlassian Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus repository experience
- Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity, PCLint, etc.
- Programming and scripting experience in a Linux environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts) as well as native package management (e.g. RPM)
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
