We are looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineering Manager with our Mission Systems Sector, based out of San Diego, CA.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Software Engineering Manager.  The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible to support the Joint All-Domain Gateway (JAD-G) Operating Unit (OU), within the Networked Solutions (NS) Business Unit.  This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

Program Responsibilities:

• Lead integration and troubleshooting of software components across multiple network domains

• Support program statement of work by applying fundamentals of software engineering to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle

• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities and the Agile process for critical mission system software products

• Work on an Agile scrum team to execute and automate infrastructure maintenance and user services

• Analyze software and system requirements allocated to computer software configuration items (CSCI)

• Create, design, maintain and expand infrastructures to support software test automation utilizing COTS automation frameworks

• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to develop innovative solutions to resolve challenging problems

• Ensure that thorough, clear, and complete documentation is created and maintained to support current and future integration activities

• Submit detailed problem reports for any anomalies identified during testing

• Prepare for and conduct presentations and demonstrations to customers, program leadership, and other stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of experience with a Masters (MS) degree; OR 0 years of experience with a PhD

• Experience with at least two of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, Java or a Web Technology Stack

• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems or similar

• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Git, Subversion, Jira, etc.

• Experience in Agile Software methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban

• Ability to travel 10% of your time

• Clearance: Candidate must currently have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of relevant experience in Software Engineering

• Demonstrated experience leading medium to large complex projects

• Proficient with at least two of the following languages C, C++, Python, Java or a Web Technology Stack

• Experience in complete software development lifecycle

• Demonstrated experience with software test automation at multiple requirement levels

• Demonstrated responsibility for ensuring that the project delivers to government expectations on time and to budget; manage the project work as defined by the government

• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Control Account Manager (CAM)

• Experience with defense contracting proposals, to include creating estimates for labor/material in response to government Request for Proposal (RFP)

Salary Range: $123,200 USD - $184,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
