The Launch and Missile Defense Systems division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Software Engineer or Principal CI/CD Software Engineer. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Position Overview:

As a CI/CD Software Engineer or Principal CI/CD Software Engineer, you will support IRADs, and will develop CI/CD infrastructure for automated testing, deployment, and configuration management of software. The selected CI/CD Software Engineer will lead automated testing efforts of a program.  


Essential Functions:

  • Establish new or modify existing CI/CD architecture
  • Define the CI/CD processes for the team
  • Build automated testing infrastructure
  • Define and manage the Configuration Management for the team
  • Write scripts to automate the CI/CD and Configuration Management process
  • Interface with external teams to update or enhance existing tools

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal CI/CD Software Engineer or a Sr. Principal CI/CD Software Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications for Principal CI/CD Software Engineer or Sr. Principal CI/CD Software Engineer:

  • CI/CD Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years experience, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Principal CI/CD Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience developing software in C++ or other object-oriented programming language.
  • Utilization of debugging tools and testing mechanisms. 
  • Experience working in an Agile Software Development project.
  • Experience using Configuration Management systems for software.
  • Demonstrate adherence to applicable software development processes and procedures. 
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
  • Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance and a minimum of an interim secret clearance is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current active in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS 
  • Experience with CMake 
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with Jenkins, bamboo, or other automated tester
  • Experience with GoogleTest, PyTest, or other testing framework
  • Experience with a relational databases

Salary Range: $77,200 USD - $115,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
