The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for a position on the Sustainment and Modification of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program. This position will work in an Agile environment and will have IT Systems experience, with relevant Hardware, Software, and Sys Admin experience. This position is based at a facility in Colorado Springs, CO or Bellevue, NB.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role will involve supporting IT Systems from a Software, Hardware, and Sys Admin perspective, conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; prepare operating instructions; utility programs, and operating systems.

The ideal candidate will have interest in supporting various types of work such as hardware, software, systems, and testing!

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience. An additional 4 years required in lieu of a degree.

  • An active DoD interim Secret or an active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.

  • General IT Systems experience

  • Software analysis and design experience

  • Ability to interface with Hardware Group

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • A STEM degree is highly preferred.

  • System Administrator experience

  • Experience with Linux

  • Experience with C++

  • Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Fisheye Crucible, etc.)

This position reports to Colorado Springs, CO, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Bellevue, NE, NE, USA.


Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $142,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
