The DARC is currently seeking Software Simulation Technical Lead. In this role you will support all aspects of the of the software engineering lifecycle, with particular focus on radar modelling and simulation software development. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Test Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test, in an agile software development environment. The ideal candidate would be someone with a strong radar knowledge, and an inclination towards solution architecture. We have a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
This role can be based at either Colorado Springs, Colorado or Bellevue, Nebraska.
Responsibilities:
- The selected candidate will perform software development and modeling, simulation analysis related to the design and implementation of advanced radar techniques and radar control.
- Develop, design, and test a simulated radar front-end to interact with the FEEL (Front-end Encapsulation Layer) and other defined interfaces.
- Design and develop clean software for the hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) integration and regression testing using simulation/re-simulation.
- Research and develop advanced capabilities, to include modeling, simulation, and analysis of radar control and radar performance.
- Design and develop engineering-level simulation models for integration, component testing, and hardware in the loop simulation.
- Implement radar algorithms for radar control and operation.
- Be responsible, follow best engineering practices, and develop high quality production level software, including writing good documentation for new features, developing meaningful unit/integration tests, always caring about safety and security, and giving constructive code review feedback.
- Collaborate with other engineers to break down long term goals into intermediate milestones.
Basic Qualifications Senior Principal Software Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree with 9 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 7 years of related experience
- Must have an active or interim secret clearance to be considere
- Fluent in software development tools and programming languages such as: MATLAB, Python, C++, and Java.
- experience troubleshooting and resolving complex HW/SW integration problems.
- Fluent in software development tools and programming languages such as: MATLAB, Python, C++, and Java.
- Experience providing test services and process compliance initiatives
- Continuous Integration Tools: Familiar with one of the following (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Code Coverage Tools: Familiar with one of the following (SonarCube, Clover, etc.)
- Experience in Agile Software methodologies – Scrum or Kanban
- Knowledge of embedded systems design and implementation
- Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Knowledge of Radar Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM
- Java experience
- Experience with Radar communications
- Experience with software and hardware
- Team Lead experience
- Integration experience
- Experience with Agile development and continuous integration and test
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop efficiencies.
- Previous in-depth domain knowledge of program software design and code
- Proficiency with DevOps technologies including Jenkins, Fortify, Ansible, Atlassian suite
- Experience in complete software development lifecycle
- Experience in Agile Software methodologies – Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Experience with software development in real-time embedded systems for military applications
- Demonstrated understanding of application and embedded software integration procedures
- Demonstrated advanced level understanding of application and embedded software integration procedures.
- Experience with VMWare infrastructure
