Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a talented professional to join the Missile Defense Test and Warfighter Support (TAWS) team on Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Specifically this role supports our Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) program.

Position Overview:

Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensure software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Unix/Linux operating system expertise (RHEL)
  • Experienced with Python and C++ with focus on time and communications interfaces
  • Familiarity with Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) services
  • High proficiency of technical problem solving
  • Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System
  • Applicants should have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance which is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience prioritizing program efforts in a high tempo environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations
  • Agile development experience

Salary Range: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
