Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Strike Software Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position can be located in either Melbourne, FL, or Oklahoma City, OK.

A successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functions:

• Leading software deliverables from proposal through delivery.
• Ensuring deliverables meet technical quality, cost & schedule objectives.
• Develop plans to meet quality, cost & schedule objectives for all software deliverables.
• Managing the software staffing profile for a software team of 50+ software engineers
• Incorporating modern software agile methodologies to increase efficiency and quality.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees.
• Owning and leading improvements across employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent.
• Mentor, develop, and train team members.
• Interface with all levels of leadership to maintain and exceed health and performance for all programs.
• Excellent communication (written, oral, and presentation) and engagement skills.

The successful candidate will report to the Strike MSSW Sub IPT Lead and functionally report to the Strike Software Center Director.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.  Understand the Integrated Logistics Support requirements from the US Government to influence the digital architecture of our design and maintenance concepts of the military platforms ensuring their operational cost are low and affordable.  Be a leading innovator in developing affordable platform sustainment solutions.  Candidate must possess strong customer interface, presentation, and communication skills. The manager will be responsible for defining and implementing optimum support concepts that will ensure effective integration with program schedules and budgets.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field with 9 years’ Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience, or Master’s with 7 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering, or PhD with 4 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience.
• Prior experience in leading a software team of 10+. 
• Experience with one or more Software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#.
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that has been granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is currently under continuous evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with leading incorporation of agile methodologies.
• Prior embedded mission software experience.
• Prior embedded software leadership experience, with technologies such as VxWorks.
• Experience within the aerospace/defense industry.
• Experience managing cost & schedule for software projects.
• Experience managing staffing for a software project of 30+.

This position reports to Melbourne, FL, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Oklahoma City, OK, OK, USA.

Salary Range: $144,100 USD - $228,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
