Northrop is looking for top-notch, focused, and dedicated software engineers to join our team of engineers on the AN/ALQ-161A B-1B Countermeasure System. The AN/ALQ-161A system is an integrated RF electronic countermeasures system designed specifically for the B-1B bomber aircraft. This position is located in Warner Robins, GA

Essential Functions:

Assist with the creation, integration, troubleshooting and testing of implemented software changes. Ideal role for someone who has the ability to take ownership of ambiguous hard problems and drive to a solution, while working in a team environment. 

  • Software development including automated testing to facilitate and analyze large data sets.

  • Develop, modify, and maintain embedded software using software engineering best practices and standards. 

  • Participate in the full life cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, software development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.

  • Apply technical expertise in solving complex integration problems.  

Frequent opportunities to interact with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers, therefore excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential to succeeding in this role.

This position may be filled at the Associate Software Engineer or Software Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications for Associate Software Engineer :  

  • Must have High School Diploma/GED and 4 years related software engineering experience. Will also consider a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. 

  • Coursework or Experience programming in a high-level language software language such as C#, C++, JAVA, etc.

Basic Qualifications for Software Engineer (Level 2):  

  • Must have High School Diploma/GED and 6years related software engineering experience.   Will also consider Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline with at least 2-years of software engineering experience OR a master’s degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. 

  • Experience programming in a high-level language software language such as C#, C++, JAVA, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

The degree of preferred qualifications is judged based on the level for which the candidate is applying

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline

  • Experience in object-oriented analysis and design

  • Experience programming in Ada

  • Experience working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on a cross-functional Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery

  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) principles

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Salary Range: $60,600 USD - $91,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
