Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer at its Systems and Software Sustainment (S&SS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role on our Embedded Software Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting our B-1B Electronic Warfare Software Program. You will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team of engineers focused on the modernization and sustainment of the ALQ-161 system for the B-1B platform. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise and collaborative people skills with the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team.

This position is located in Warner Robins, GA

Your responsibilities will include:

-Develop, modify, and maintain embedded software using software engineering best practices and standards

-Participate in the full life cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, software development, unit testing, integration, and formal system testing

-Frequent opportunities to interact with program management, other functional teams (systems, hardware, test), and government customers

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline

Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience with B.S. degree

Minimum of 3 years of direct relevant experience with master’s degree

No direct relevant experience necessary with PhD.

Proficient in C/C++ and/or similar programming language

- Proficient in all areas of formal software lifecycle process from requirements to testing

- Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in object-oriented analysis and design

- Experience programming in Ada

- Experience using JIRA/Bitbucket and Smart Git

- Experience working in a fast paced, Agile environment with the ability to work on a cross-functional Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery

- Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) principles

- Active Secret Security Clearance


Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
