Northrop Grumman is hiring a Software Engineer OR Principal Software Engineer in Fort Worth, Texas!

This position will provide onsite customer support for the F-35 in Fort Worth. Duties include: Support customer collaboration / planning meetings and test integration sessions in customer labs.  In addition to this the candidate will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities and the Agile process for the F-35 Mission Systems Software.  The candidate will review Software requirements for completeness and understandability and perform detailed design, code, and testing of those requirements at the domain level as well as support of system and operational testing.

This position may be hired at either the Software Engineer OR Principal Software Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications for a Software Engineer:

  • Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline with at least 2 years of software development experience in embedded real-time software; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field with 0 years of experience.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of C++ Object-Oriented Design and Development
  • Experience with embedded systems for military applications
  • Must have experience in using integrated development environment tools (e.g. Rhapsody) and real-time operating systems (e.g. Integrity, VxWorks)
  • Must have US Citizenship 
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP (Special Access Programs) This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline with at least 5 years of software development experience in embedded real-time software; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0 years of experience.
  • Fluent in C++ Object-Oriented Design and Development
  • Experience with embedded systems for military applications
  • Must have experience in using integrated development environment tools (e.g. Rhapsody) and real-time operating systems (e.g. Integrity, VxWorks)
  • Must have US Citizenship 
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP (Special Access Programs) This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Experience in complete software development life-cycle
  • Experience in the Agile process
  • Experience in CMMI Level 5 processes
  • Experience in Python
  • Candidate will be expected to have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
