Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs hard real-time embedded software containing logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission critical software.
- Must be able to work and collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones.
- Ensures program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met.
- Understands and can develop in a continuous integration tool chain, meeting technical and compliance requirements.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- 9 Years of experience with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
- Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 5 years.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Experience with C++ and object-oriented design
- Knowledge of targeting a real time operating system
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Experience developing software for a hard real time system and rate monotonic scheduling
- Experience with developing software for hardware devices
- Experience in the implementation of GNC algorithms
- Experience developing in an Agile environment
- Experience with nuclear surety requirements
- Experience developing missile flight systems software
- Experience with DO-178C compliance
- Active Top Secret security clearance with adjudication in the last 6 years
