Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Engineering, Targeting and NC3 Manager 3 within the Command and Launch IPT for the GBSD program. This leadership role will be located in Roy, UT.


The successful candidate will:

The Software Engineering Manager will provide leadership and direction within the Command and Launch IPT serving as the Targeting and NC3 Lead.   This manager position is dual-role; directing all phases of select software products from inception through completion and oversight of subcontractor engineering scope. The manager is responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned software products and supplier subcontracts. The manager will participate in the negotiation of subcontracts and subcontract changes. Coordinates the preparation of contract deliverables, schedules, and budgets. Acts as primary customer contact, leading program review sessions with program and customer stakeholders to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.  Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.  Directs the work of employees and also serves as a functional engineering manager to a team of software engineers. Develops new business.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 8 years of relative experience.

•Must have minimum of 3 years formal management experience that includes leading software teams

Active or Current DoD Secret Clearance (awarded or reinvestigated within the past 5 years) and ability to obtain SAP program access (background investigation required)

• At least 2 years of EVMS experience

• At least 2 years experience managing subcontract activities through the engineering development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications:

•Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).

•Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the past 5 years)

•Must have prior experience working with customers to foster confident relationships

•Existing Special Program access

•Experience leading large teams

•Experience in functional management

Salary Range: $147,700 USD - $221,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
