Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an DevSecOps Software Engineer/Principal DevSecOps Software Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to include the Sentinel (GBSD) program.

What You’ll Get to Do:

This position will support our program as a DevSecOps Software Engineer. In this role, the successful applicant will design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determine computer user needs
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
  • Prepares operating instructions
  • Designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met. 
  • Participate in the standup and growth of multiple large scale software factory used by software team
  • Integration of continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, and continuous deployment pipeline systems
  • Utilize strong communication skills to work with Software IPT, chief engineers, and development teams
  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user systems, including coordination with network administrators. 
  • The selected candidate should thrive in an environment with, diverse assignments and collaborative/team settings across all levels
  • Support Agile Software/Hardware teams on pipeline builds, software installation, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of the Software build *Integration*

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

•     A Bachelor's and (appropriate years of experience based off level – education & experience below):

  • level 2- 2+ years of experience; 0+ years with Master’s degree; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • level 3-5+ years of experience; 0+ years with Master’s degree; 0+ years with PhD; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes and/or automation scripting to improve operational efficiencies
  • Experience in software development build tools (i.e., Maven, Ant) and continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins,TeamCity, GitLab)
  • Direct experience in Linux/ Windows Administration, experience with Virtualization technology.
  • Experience administering and configuring the full Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, JIRA, GIT, Crucible, FishEye, Crowd)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Active DoD Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years with ability to obtain Special Program Access

·  Ability to automate software builds and releases via Maven & Nexus

·  Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Chef or an equivalent

·  Experience with AWS/Azure/Cloud-based systems

·  Experience with developing formal builds within the DoD industry

·  Certification from VMWare and Cisco is a plus

·  Experience with VMware infrastructure and automation

·  Keen understanding of the software development life cycle

·  Experience using the Agile methodology

·  Current DoD 8570 IAT II certification

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
