Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Principal Software Engineer/Sr Principal Software Engineer to join the SDS Division.   This position is in Roy, UT and supports the SDS Division.   Final grade level offered will be based on candidate level of experience.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Scope of work for the Software Engineer:

  • Work with the lead test engineer and a team of software developers to establish and develop test methods and techniques

  • Perform integration testing, regression testing, and formal qualification testing in an agile software development environment

  • Document software problems and verify fixes

  • Design, develop, and maintain software test plans, software test cases, software test procedures, and automated software test in compliance with program functional, technical, and performance requirements

  • Troubleshoot and modify test tools and test scripts

  • Generate software test data, perform test data analysis, and develop test documentation

  • Participate in formal software inspection processes, customer meetings, and user events

  • Provide support to customer testers during acceptance testing, including test procedure walkthroughs, documentation of testing issues and test results, and answering questions on system functionality

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • Understanding Teamcenter Workflows, Workflow handlers using, C++, TcU RAC, and BMIDE. Also develop test scenarios for Web client Active Workspace.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer OR a Principal Software Engineer Level

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Software Engineer:

  • 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.

  • 3-5 Years of experience developing software/writing code in C/C++ AND Python

  • 2 years of relevant experience with Siemens Teamcenter Unified development or similar PLM tool OR

  • Experience with Object Oriented Software Development, C++, code management (Microsoft TFS/SVN/or similar), testing orientation and knowledge of auto test functionality like Selenium, Playwright and/or Puppeteer

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Basic Qualification for a Sr Principal Software Engineer:

  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.

  • 7-9 Years of experience developing software/writing code in C/C++ AND Python

  • 5 years experience with Object Oriented Software Development, C++, code management (Microsoft TFS/SVN/or similar), testing orientation and knowledge of auto test functionality like Selenium, Playwright and/or Puppeteer

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledgeable in high assurance software, hardware/software interfaces, programming of embedded processors utilizing a Real Time Operating System (RTOS), real-time and post processing data analytics, object-oriented programming and design patterns

  • Proficient in WindRiver, VxWorks development environments

  • Experience with VectorCast (source code coverage tool)

  • Experience with Air Worthiness certification process

  • Experience with Real Time Component Framework (RTCF)

  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Experience with Developing and / or performing Automated Tests

  • SCRUM master certification or experience in SCRUM master role

Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
