Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking to hire a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to the Support and Training, System Engineering team for the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This leadership opening is in Huntsville, AL. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:
Performs System Engineering functions related to the design of Support Equipment: Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Requirements development, Design Reviews, Contractor Risk, Trade Studies, Requirements and Verification.  Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, test, operations/maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.  Support Equipment is vital to the Sentinel primary system operations and maintenance activities, providing such functions as lifts, handling fixtures, carriages, transportation, test and other.

This position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. It is expected that the Functional management role will comprise up to 20% of the candidate's time.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disciplines with 6 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree in a related discipline and 4 years of relevant experience.

• At least 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against sch
•    Must have an active Secret security clearance and have the ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.
•    2 years of D0ORS experience.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    1 year of ICBM experience.
•    Very strong understanding of SE process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration
•    Experience with the following tools: CAMEO, DOORS, Confluence, and JIRA
•    Understands Peculiar (PSE) and Common (CSE) Support Equipment
•    4 plus years of System Engineering experience
•    Experience leading technical teams
•    Top Secret clearance
•    Operates independently with little to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
•    Strong background in managing and developing engineering requirements

Salary Range: $134,400 USD - $201,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
