Principal Engineer Systems – GQM-163A Program

Northrop Grumman's Space Systems is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to support the Launch and Missile Defense Systems business unit for the GQM-163A Program.

The GQM-163A Program manufactures and launches threat-representative anti-ship supersonic targets in support of Navy Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and/or Fleet operational training. The GQM-163A Program also performs sustaining engineering on the deployed target fleet including non-recurring engineering to incorporate new software and hardware (payload) capabilities to maintain fleet readiness in the face of an ever-evolving threat environment.

The Principal Systems Engineer will support numerous system engineering tasks.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree plus 5 years of experience; Masters Degree plus 3 years of experience; PhD plus 0 years of experience.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is required

Ability to travel is required.

Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
