Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector, Tactical Space Systems Division, seeks an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) for WBS elements assigned to Systems Engineering. Successful candidates for this position will support space programs located in Gilbert, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity for mid-career leaders and/or aspiring program managers. The CAM will manage systems engineering Earned Value baseline and apply Earned Value Management and analysis techniques to manage the project schedule and budget.
Responsibilities Include:
- Engage and collaborate with program and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret project needs to effectively meet program milestones.
- Manage and maintain the day-to-day interfaces and communications between the Program Management Office (PMO), Engineering Directorates, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain. Resolve issues spanning across Systems Engineering functional areas.
- Baseline, Manage, Control, and Close project(s) using a project management framework approach.
- Coordinate control account cost and schedule performance through project life cycle
- Responsible for conducting and coordinating variance analysis; working with subject matter experts and leads to understand the true root causes of variance; translation of findings into customer deliverable explanations
- Understanding of program technical content sufficiently to support program management and leads in detailed planning of program technical scope
- Assess, track, and mitigate cost and schedule risk supported by quantitative and predictive analyses.
- Facilitate internal meetings to support design, production, and problem resolution.
- Support to program management and subcontract management to ensure subcontract compliance, adequate and accurate reporting, and consistent completion of subcontractor scope
- Initiate and maintain program subcontracts as well as intra-company work orders in support of project financial and schedule performance
- Utilize fundamental engineering principles to facilitate production and design changes within the project team that result in superior products within the program budget.
- Support proposal efforts, including but not limited to generation of Basis of Estimate and schedules.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have US Citizenship with active Secret Clearance at time of application with the ability to obtain Top Secret/ SCI
- A Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant work experience (6 years with a Master’s Degree)
- Experience supporting cost account management, business process analysis, and/or program management support on EVM/EVMS compliant programs
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point
- Demonstrated ability working with cross organizational teams and customers
- Demonstrated ability to present and communicate to variety of audiences from peers to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Master in Business Administration (MBA)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) training / certification.
- Experience working in Engineering, Manufacturing, Test and/or Production environment
