Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Weapons Systems Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership role is located in Beale, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Operations and Weapons System Manager for the program on all functions and responsibilities spanning multiple locations.
  • Manage and lead the ground-based computer system control segments, leading engineers and system administrators who perform O-level and Depot Level engineering support.
  • Manage and lead the enterprise level training system engineering, development, build and integration into multiple contract efforts.
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) utilizing Earned Value Management principles to track and report program progress.  Develop and administer budgets and standards of performance for training systems contracts.
  • Responsible for the engineering process development, continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within the various training systems and systems assigned.
  • Serves as the management liaison to program management, customers, operations, and other functional groups.
  • Manages risks, change requests and opportunities for all engineering scope within the training system discipline.
  • Collaborates with all functional organizations to resolve engineering conflicts with a multiple disciplined maintenance community.
  • Maintain System configuration control over SW/HW versions/configurations (network/computing/applications, automated environment creation.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluate and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Utilize sound engineering practices to develop, implement, and maintain end-to-end ground systems.
  • Product Deliveries include: ICDs, Emulator/Simulator baseline control, test plans, network diagrams, integration/deployment work instructions, production, and test system hardware (e.g., networks).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering that includes a background in Weapons Systems, OR a Master’s degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering that includes a background in Weapons Systems.
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance that has been granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is currently under continuous evaluation.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STEM Degree
  • Experience in EVMS and CAM
  • Current/Active Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting information systems.
  • Experience designing, developing, building, testing and maintaining network and computing infrastructure
  •  Experience identifying systems anomalies and troubleshooting (network/custom applications/COTS software/server infrastructure)
  • Experience in, currently or previously held, IAT Level 2 Security Certification (Security +, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP) OR IAT DoD level 3 (CASP, CCNP-Security, CISA, CISSP,GCED, GCIH).
  • Knowledge of virtualization sustainment/maintenance.
  • Project Management, risk and opportunities, and Change Request Experience

Salary Range: $124,600 USD - $186,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
