The Instrumentation team located in Palmdale, CA is looking for a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineering Manager 2. This position will be leading a flight test instrumentation operations section within the classified portfolio of Aeronautics Sector.  The position will be responsible for the build-up, integration, checkout, and operations of a large scale flight test instrumentation system.  
 
In addition to managing staff and technical activities, you will be responsible for creating and managing schedules, spend plans, staffing plans, and developing proposals for future work.  You will also be preparing presentations/reports and routinely presenting status to senior leadership.
Up to 20 % travel

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math with 9 years of professional experience or Master's degree and 7 years of professional experience.
  • 5 years of flight test experience or instrumentation/electrical fabrication.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret level clearance
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Solid technical understanding of instrumentation systems and architectures
  • Ability to interface with all levels of functional and program management
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technical projects from inception through completion with the ability to manage several tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of SOW elements
  • Experience coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, and spend plans.
  • Risk and opportunity management experience
  • Customer relationship experience 
  • Control Account Management Experience

Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
