Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a System Engineering Environmental Electromagnetic Effects (E3) Section Manager located in Palmdale, CA reporting directly to the Specialty Engineering and Configuration Management Department Manager.

The Section Manager is responsible for managing a section of E3 System Engineers (15-18% of the time) while continuing to excel in a program role (85-90% or the time). As a member of the Mission System Engineering functional management team, the Section Manager participates in selected Specialty Engineering activities such as staffing, recruiting, employee development, performance management, process and product development, Independent Review Teams (IRT), and on occasion special initiatives. Sections will have up to 15 members and include personnel that range in grade from T01 to T05.

This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

Essential functions:

  • Support proposal work, independent technical reviews, program standup and audits, and special assignments on an as needed basis

  • Provide strong leadership, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and collaboration with senior management, peers, and employees.

  • Previous experience in a leadership and management role within an Engineering discipline is required.

  • Responsible for recruiting, staffing and retaining top talent to ensure success for all PAICoE programs.

  • Own and lead improvements across employee engagement, hiring, development and training.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 9 years relevant work experience

  • 1+ years leadership experience

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MS degree in Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline is preferred.

  • 9 years of experience in Electrical Engineering concepts to include E3 topics.

  • Must have knowledge with E3 concepts.

  • Agile concepts knowledge

  • Experience with the both manned and unmanned aircraft systems is preferred.

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret.

This position reports to Palmdale, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Oklahoma City, OK, OK, USA.


Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
