The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) Systems Test Organization team requires a Level 1 Test Engineering Manager responsible for the day-to-day operational management, training, and the possible functional management of Test Program Flight Test Technicians.

Primary duty is serving as the Training Manager for all non-exempt Technicians on the Systems Test IPT Program, and some exempt test engineers, for upwards of 60 personnel on the Test IPT. The selected candidate will actively manage all Flight Test Technician qualifications, currencies, and compliance training to ensure Statement of Work execution and the personnel safety of all Flight Test Technicians.

Duties also include staffing, planning, execution, and reporting in multiple technology areas. The selected candidate will identify, manage, and lead the Lead Technicians on the Systems Test IPT. This position requires a highly motivated and self-starting individual with relevant ground test operations and maintenance experience, who will be willing to work additional assignments beyond the defined requirements of this position, if required.

Position may require Section Manager functional duties, responsible for up to approximately 15 direct reports. Travel time is minimal, less than 5%.

Other duties include:

  • Report article status and provide detailed reports as required to Test Management

  • Manage the daily tasks of the assigned Flight Test Technicians while coordinating with other Systems Test personnel, including Test Engineers, Systems Test Engineers, Ground Test Managers, and other support personnel

  • Liaise with the PAICoE Systems Integration Test & Evaluation (SIT&E) Functional Homeroom and the Government Ground Representative (GGR) as required for the statement of work

  • Identify risks, issues, and pressures and develop mitigation and closure plans

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 7 years of relevant experience required without a Bachelor’s Degree; minimum of 3 years of relevant test experience with a Bachelor's Degree

  • Active DoD Secret clearance, with an investigation date within the past 6 years

  • Ability to obtain a TS clearance and a PAR

  • Must be willing to work non-standard shifts and overtime, as required

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

  • Flexibility to work additional test assignments within the Program Test IPT beyond the defined requirements of this position.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance, with an investigation date within the past 6 years..


Salary Range: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
