The Advanced Mission Programs (AMP) has an opening for a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer supporting the Ground Element Software Acquisitions (SW ACQ) team. In this role you will act as a liaison between our program and our subcontractor.  This involves  interacting with the customer, subcontractors, Software, Hardware, Operations, Integration and Test, higher level systems engineering and integration teams, as well as program and project leadership. The acquisitions team is responsible for overseeing agreements and progress toward multiple contractual efforts. Responsibilities for this role includes attending an Engineering Review Board (ERB) on the contractor’s behalf and communicating requirement and documentation changes as well as managing impact assessments. Attendance at the Software Discrepancy Review Board (SDRB) to help facilitate and prioritize software changes between multiple product lines. Facilitate working group meetings between teams, organizations and sub-contractor in order to resolve issues. Support acquisitions software lead with: schedule and proposal activities; Design and architecture discussion or reviews. As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will also support the definition, development, decomposition, analysis, verification, and validation of requirements as well as any architecture design steaming from the system requirements.

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer

  • Current DoD Top Secret with ability to obtain an SCI clearance prior to start date
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline with 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree
  • MS Word/Excel/Power Point/Project experience
  • Experience supporting requirement development/testing/verification
  • Knowledge of software systems and configuration
  • General understanding of Waterfall and Agile software process
  • Experience with ENOVIA/EMATRIX

Preferred Qualifications for a Systems Engineer:

  • MBSE experience
  • Experience with Agile tools and methodologies
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux systems
  • Experience with scripting and scripting languages (VBA, python, Power BI)
  • Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:

Preferred Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
