The selected candidate will lead teams in performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and operations effectiveness analyses for Strike Division systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Leads the performance of functional analysis, timeline analysis, operations analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

The role includes leadership of a multi-site operations analysis, modeling and simulation team, managing statement of work for 20+ engineers conducting systems/payloads trade studies, system/payload simulation development, virtual simulations, operational assessments, requirements analysis, threat system analysis, electronic warfare analysis, mission performance/effectiveness analysis, and force level effectiveness analysis. The role includes the collaboration across sector, division, and program operations analysis and virtual simulation teams to ensure commonality and alignment.

The position provides division-level support of managing operations analysis and simulation projects across multiple programs, as well as oversight of multiple program-level laboratories simulating aircraft and payload software for conducting operator in the loop (OITL) events. Additionally, position is a leadership role in managing statement of work and analysis tools/products within a corporation-wide multi-security caveat IRAD environment. Responsibilities include managing project cost and schedule, overseeing technical analysis projects, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to meet project expectations, planning and conducting system simulation events, presenting results to decision makers, assigning tasking to team members, and fostering the growth of a team of highly skilled engineers. Candidate should have strong problem solving and communication skills, be highly motivated, and ability to work with a team in a highly dynamic fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject area from an accredited university and at least 9 years of related experience; or a Master's degree in STEM subject area from an accredited university and at least 7 years of related experience.
  • At least 3 years team leadership experience with the ability to cultivate, lead, develop and grow a diverse, multi-discipline team of technical experts to model, analyze and develop physics-based System of Systems mission simulations.
  • Understanding of Agile Software Development.
  • Active Top Secret clearance is required.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain additional Special Access Program (SAP) clearance before establishing a start date (contingency).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in STEM degree
  • 10+ Years experience
  • Experience in Threat Mission Analysis and Virtual Simulation
  • Demonstrated experience developing product visions and fostering effective engineering teams
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing insights from multiple data sources
  • Recent military experience in planning or executing joint air combat operations highly desired, but not required
  • Strike Program 1 experience highly desired, but not required
  • Strike Program 2 experience highly desired, but not required

This position reports to Redondo Beach, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Melbourne, FL, FL, USA.


Salary Range: $176,100 USD - $264,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
