We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager with our Mission Systems Sector, based out of San Diego, CA.

As a Systems Engineering Manager at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.

• Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills including team building and navigation, personal and career development, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, work planning and allocation.

• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

• Provide functional support to a team of direct reports.  Encourage individual development through training, stretch assignments, and career mentoring. 

• Provide direct technical support as a systems engineer on a program or independent research and development effort (~80% of role)

• Support Talent Acquisition in new/replacement positions (requisitions, interviewing, onboarding).

• Effective collaborator, communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  Demonstrate a commitment to ethics/integrity and the capability to innovate while challenging the traditional ways of doing business.

• Drive agility and operational efficiency in Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test processes and tools.

• Attract, develop, advise, assess, promote, and retain highly qualified engineering workforce.  

• This position is a dual-role encompassing both functional management and technical performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of experience with a Masters (MS) degree

• Experience leading teams either directly or indirectly

• Experience with all phases of the systems development lifecycle

• US Citizenship is required in order to obtain and maintain security clearance; ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance

• Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of MBSE, experience with SysML and Cameo tool suite

• Understands architectural aspects of communication systems and wireless network communication protocols

• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Control Account Manager (CAM)

• Experience with defense contracting proposals, to include creating estimates for labor/material in response to government Request for Proposal (RFP)

Salary Range: $119,600 USD - $179,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
