Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to work in our Systems Engineering West directorate.

The selected engineer will have a good understanding of the systems engineering design life cycle and experience with requirements management and verification planning.  The candidate will be responsible for the requirements analysis, development, allocations and tracing; performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, running detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into capability based requirements.

They will provide design assessments and perform verification checks; develop technical, system integration and verification plans and track progress; perform cost trades; perform risk analysis, develop mitigation plans and track closure; develop interface control documents with minimal oversight.

The candidate will help ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 9 years of experience in engineering; or a Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 7 years of experience in engineering.

• An active DoD Clearance

• Experience supporting Systems Engineering Milestones SRR, PDR and CDR.

• Experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification and requirements management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with DOORS, Confluence, and JIRA.

• Experience in ICD development and integration
• Experience with multiple disciplines across Systems Engineering, incl. requirements, integration, technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline), cyber
• Experience with Agile Design Methodology

This position reports to San Diego, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $129,700 USD - $194,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
