Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer, Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) Lead role to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will work with the Digital Transformation, Program Management Portfolio Team to meet portfolio milestones and manage the technical baseline.

Essential Functions:

The selected candidate will work with supplier, development, deployment and sustainment teams to develop and execute program plans in accordance with system and software level requirements. The candidate will manage the project execution rhythm, coordination and reporting activities to ensure project tasks are completed on time.  The IFC manager will manage defect review board and changes to the software backlog. The successful candidate will also lead the associated project teams in preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, conducting and participating in all related design reviews, and serving as a technical liaison to the cross-functional team.

Basic Qualifications:

•             Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 14 years of experience in engineering; or a Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 12 years of experience in engineering, or a PhD with 9 Years of experience in engineering

•             An active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance.

•             IFC management experience

•             Experience leading SW development efforts

•             Experience in managing projects from concept through implementation.

•             Experience leading Systems Engineering staff

Preferred Qualifications:

•             IFC Management experience on very large program (ACAT-1 programs)

•             Program Management experience

•             Experience in Cost/Schedule Integration, EVMS and CAM responsibilities.

•             Functional management experience

•             Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.

•             Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.


Salary Range: $161,000 USD - $241,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
