We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer based out of San Diego, CA. As a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You Will Get To Do:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the SNAP Department (Strategic Networks, Applications, and Products).  Our team focuses on Network Solutions, and supports a variety of technologies across our three departments; C3 Solutions, Strategic Networks, and Small Form Factors. C3 Solutions, specializes in Tactical Data Link processors, emulators, and simulators.  Our Strategic Networks team builds solutions to defending our country's nuclear assets.  And lastly, our Small Form Factors Department brining SWaP optimized solutions (Crypto, SDRs, Space Networks) to new domains, bridging us into Space , Weapons, and more.  This position will be located in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA, at one of our two locations; Rancho Carmel, or Kearny Mesa. 

  • Apply your Systems, Comms, and/or Network Modeling experience to cutting edge pursuits

  • Participation in architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of advanced software defined multifunction mission systems

  • Creation of innovative concepts of operation and employment of the advanced mission system solutions

  • Development of detailed design requirements suitable for efficient hardware/software/firmware implementation and network deployment

This position is contingent on program award.

This is a dual level requisition which can be filled as a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer

Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field with 2 years of relevant experience

Basic Qualification for Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience or Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience

Basic Qualification for Systems and Principal Systems Engineer:

  • System analysis and/or integration experience

  • Recent experience in requirements allocation & derivation and verification traceability

  • Experience with requirements in management tools such as DOORs

  • Model Based System Engineering experience, especially using Cameo

  • Clearance: Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile development experience, including use of Atlassian products

  • High proficiency with tools required for communication system and network modeling and simulation

  • Demonstrated depth and breadth in the physical through application layers and how the aggregation of these partitioned capabilities accomplish required missions

  • Ability and willingness to travel

  • Active DoD Secret level or above clearance

  • Ability to obtain DoD Special Program Access (SAP)


Salary Range: $85,000 USD - $127,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $127,400 USD - $157,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
