We have several opportunities in our Navigation and Cockpits Systems areas for a future Systems Integration and Test Engineer. Our Navigation Systems area is focused at the line replaceable unit (LRU) level. Engineers working in this area regularly work with complex test equipment such as rate tables, circuit card assemblies, and electronic communication devices. Our Cockpit Systems area is focused on the integrated systems of multiple LRUs for complex avionics mission support. Both areas requires extensive time in labs so it is important that candidates be comfortable working in environments with electronic equipment. Above all, our teams verify that our products meet the mission needs of our customers.

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.

  • Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems. This includes designing a formal qualification strategy to qualify new system designs utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, DOORS.

  • Using scripting knowledge to develop test scripts to automate test campaigns.

  • Coordinate integrated testing activities.

  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.

  • Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

  • Assess performance of Navigation Systems and Mission Computers by analyzing data using MATLAB or similar software.

  • May be part of an Agile SCRUM team.

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Integration and Test Engineer are:

  • 2 years of Engineering experience with a Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline; 0 years of experience with Masters

  • Analytical coding experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • MATLAB experience

  • Systems engineering background and/or mindset

  • Requirements analysis experience

  • Test plan/procedure/execution experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Simulink/Cameo

  • Model Based Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering

  • Python

  • C

  • Git/GitHub

  • Systems engineering background with verification

  • Mentoring/teaching

  • Familiarity with testing embedded software on target hardware

  • Experience with avionics integration and verification


Salary Range: $85,000 USD - $127,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
