As a Sr Principal Communication Systems Test Engineer, you will be developing systems using current technologies and others yet to come. This position will serve on the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) program under the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) group. This position will be based in our Colorado Springs airport facility.

What you get to do:

  • Lead efforts to define, design, build, integrate and test DARC external communications interfaces

  • Coordinate DARC C2 designs and activities in established working groups as the program’s C2 Primary Point of Contact

  • Coordinate onboarding with DISA, UDL, C2BMC and other government networks

  • Coordinate protection of data across networks at unclassified and SECRET security levels

  • Work with external partners to define tasking and data message formats

  • Evaluate DARC Command and Control (C2) requirements, functional and performance characteristics and assess DARC System Architecture refinements and modifications

  • Provide technical guidance to integrated product teams on C2 impacts to hardware, software, cybersecurity, test and sustainability functions.

  • Support the development of system test and/or integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of integration and testing of the DARC C2

  • Implement, review, and refine DARC C2 characteristics in the DARC Cameo System Models as applicable


 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of systems engineering experience; or 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with PhD.

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • The ability and willingness to occasionally travel.

  • Familiarity with Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Command and Control networks and systems

  • Familiarity with the Unified Data Library (UDL) for SDA data

  • Familiarity with messaging for SDA sensors

  • Familiarity with cross-domain solutions for interfacing networks at different security classification levels

  • Experience in system requirements analysis and derivation

  • Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

  • Familiarity in Agile Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive background in system command and control requirements analysis and derivation

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in system C2

  • Familiarity with C2BMC communication networks

  • Experience in ground based radars

  • Experience in model based systems engineering


Salary Range: $117,900 USD - $176,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
