Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a talented professional to join the Missile Defense Test and Warfighter Support (TAWS) team on Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado as a Systems Engineering Functional Manager Level 2 managing a team of diverse Engineers.

What You’ll get to Do:

This is a dual role encompassing both functional management and Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) program performance within the Test and Warfighter Support (TAWS) organization on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) program. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. This candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ide al candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading Engineering teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years experience in Systems, Software or a related field ; 6 years with a MS degree.. 11 Years of experience with AA degree or 13 years in lieu of degree
  • Software or a related field; 6 years with a MS degree
  • Must be experienced in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle
  • Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High proficiency of technical problem solving
  • Familiarity with Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) services
  • Project scheduling and budget experience (e.g. CAM)
  • Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System
  • Active Secret clearance to start

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty
  • Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership
  • Working knowledge of OPIR sensors, with respect to focal plane resolution, sensitivity, and line of sight considerations for the purpose of tracking
  • Unix/Linux operating system expertise (RHEL)
  • Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations
  • Agile development experience

Salary Range: $134,400 USD - $201,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
