Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal / Senior Principal System Engineer – System Integration to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The Integration activity is to ensure the install matches the Configuration Managed baseline and to verify settings and operations. The Test activity is to exercise high level functions and capabilities to ensure no change from the test environment. The servers and workstations are both Linux and Windows based, using virtual servers. Integration includes troubleshooting of the installed software to identify resolutions if the system is incorrectly installed or if settings are incorrect. Troubleshooting includes activities that most System Administrators should have the knowledge to identify and resolve most common issues. C2BMC is deployed internationally; therefore some travel may be required, but most efforts are from a central location with remote access.

  • Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems.
  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.
  • Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems.
  • Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations.
  • Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance.
  • Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

Basic Qualifications:

If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.

  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • 5 Years with Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Ability to possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) within 60 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with operational systems (e.g. Aegis, Patriot), development systems (e.g. GMD, THAAD, Aegis), and off-the-shelf statistical analysis packages a plus.
  • Candidate must be able to cooperatively develop integration plans/procedures from sources such as functional/performance requirements and stated technical capabilities, monitor the integration of the test resources, execute these detailed integration procedures, analyze integration results, and present the results orally and in written format.
  • Candidate should have experience in troubleshooting of small to large scale infrastructure.
  • For this position, network architecture and device knowledge and scripting skills for data mining and formatted display of data are a plus.
  • Experience within the Missile Defense realm and previous test and integration experience are also very useful.
  • Ideal candidate should have either knowledge of or practical experience with industry or DoD test methodologies and terminology.
  • The ability to get a Top Secret clearance or have a current Top Secret clearance is desired.

Salary Range: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $117,900 USD - $176,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
