Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) C2BMC team is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 1 based out of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

What You’ll get to Do:

The Engineering Manager 1 will manage an on-site team providing varied engineering support from the Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. Functional Manager responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage a team of direct reports
  • Performing functional manager roles and responsibilities (i.e. staffing, recruiting, timecard approval, performance reviews, etc.)
  • Maintain high levels of engagement among their own team
  • Support Career Development of current talent among team members
  • Interact with internal program leadership and customers on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and provide guidance and oversight to the employees

The successful candidate must be entrepreneurial, a self-starter and have the ability to challenge the status quo. This individual must be customer-focused with proven leadership and excellent communication skills as well as a leader in change management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field and a minimum of 4 years of experience in leadership and/or technical roles; Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience; or PhD with a minimum of 0 years of experience.
  • Secret clearance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior technical leadership (SW lead, test lead, product owner, scrum master, etc.)
  • Experience making hiring decisions
  • Experience with conducting disciplinary actions
  • Domain experience in Missile Defense, Radars, Space Systems
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with Systems or Software Engineering processes and products
  • Outstanding Communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment with Continuous Integration

Salary Range: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
