Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer - Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

Applicant will be expected to analyze real world data pertaining to Missile Defense and Space Domain Awareness. As part of an Agile Scrum team, the applicant will develop and complete features and stories mapped to program objectives. Depending on the specific skills of the successful applicant, duties will include one or more of the following: collect and interpret real world data, develop new algorithms to effectively utilize the data, and actively update current algorithms based on new data.
 

Basic Qualifications:

If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.

  • An active Top Secret clearance is required.
  • STEM degree required: 5 Years with Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Applicant must have an analysis background that covers a variety of disciplines that support filtering data for predicting future states of ballistic missile threats.
  • Technical specialty areas may include but are not limited to performance analysis and characterization of large-scale complex system simulations including ballistic missile threats, weapon systems, and command and control.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working or theoretical knowledge of ballistic or non-ballistic missile defense concepts, Battle Management and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, defense communication systems, and the Missile Defense System (MDS) in general.
  • Strong background in math and physics. Experience using MATLAB to support analysis of complex data.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux, Agile Scrum, and continuous integration.
  • Specific knowledge of one or more MDS elements, such as C2BMC, AN/TPY-2, LRDR, BOA, SBIRS, GMB, Aegis BMD, and PATRIOT.
  • Experience with scenario generation a plus.

Salary Range: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
