The Melbourne Manned Aircraft Design (MAD) Center of Excellence (CoE) is seeking a Systems Engineer/ Principal Systems Engineer under Systems Engineering to support key program/s in the Aeronautics Systems Sector (NGAS). The selected candidate will perform system engineering activities for all levels of a total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Essential Functions:

·    Performs systems integration, and verification for total systems.

·    Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

·    Support system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower level requirements.

·    Generation and updating of System and sub-system level specifications in DOORS, including creation of Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM) and verification traceability (tracing requirements to test plans/procedures/results)

·    Define and execute overall system verification plan and associated products for FCA. Coordinate verification with sub-systems to ensure proper verification roll-up. Manage overall verification products in support of system sell-off

This is a dual level requisition that can be offered at either the Systems Engineer OR Principal Systems Engineer title and level based upon the chosen candidate's education, experience, and skillset.

Basic Qualifications:

·     (Engineer Systems) Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years experience OR Masters Degree in STEM discipline.

·     (Principal Engineer Systems) Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years experience OR 3 years experience with a Masters Degree in STEM discipline

·     Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

·     Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

Preferred Qualifications:

·    Experience with system engineering tools such as IBM Rational DOORS

·    First-hand experience with requirements management

·    Experience with verification of system requirements

·    Familiarity with system documents such as System/Subsystem Specifications, Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM), etc.

·    Experience with Agile / Scrum / DevOps


Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
