Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently hiring Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  The selected candidate will be part of a small team in performing cross-IPT integration and proposal technical author on a major defense acquisition program capture.  This opportunity is located in Melbourne, FL. 

Key Responsibilities: 
The selected candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.  The selected candidate will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions with emphasis on cross-IPT integration that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications: 
•  Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience with OR 3 years of related engineering experience with Masters' Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline OR a PhD in STEM.
• Demonstrated success in previous roles as the Systems Engineer on major defense acquisition programs
•  Significant experience in development and integration of large-scale systems
•  Experience with proposal technical volume writing. 
•  Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret clearance
•  Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain specific program access after start of employment 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•  Experience in system concept of operations, requirements, and architecture definition for major development programs  
• Broad-based systems engineering experience in development, test, and post-transition activities of large systems on multiple security domains
•  Experience in engineering change board oversight and ensure adherence to technical 
•  Experience in performing aircraft functional test
•  Will demonstrate full working knowledge of Systems Engineering procedures and practices
•  Evaluate test requirements to ensure completion of test phase
•  Assist with sell-off of system requirements to customer
•  Assist with resolution of discrepancy reports
•  Track hardware and software configuration throughout development lifecycle
 

Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
